This part of the project covers the Implementation stage of the ADDIE model, including a full rollout plan where I have considered the background of the Who and Why stages of content design, the learning platform and its functionalities, and what roles are required.

The how stage has also been reviewed as I plan for content setup and distribution, and steps for communication, engagement, and accessibility are addressed pre-, during, and post-content delivery.

Reflective Commentary

Doing a complete rollout plan for the first time in this depth gave me a greater sense of what is needed and expected from the team in each area and within the timeframes provided. This also highlighted functions we don't utilise enough or at all that could greatly assist the intake and output of use of the training.

Background

This allowed me to revert back to the basics of the course principles, how it will be provided to the learners, and what we aim to achieve.

Target Audience

By looking at the target audience and referencing back to the learning personas, who the target audience is, and when the training will be assigned to them, reflecting on their needs, it enabled me to create an implementation plan that is best suited to their needs.

The Learning Platform and Functionalities

Creating a full-functioning list of all the features that would be put into place for this project, but thinking about additional areas for the future, was incredibly beneficial and was a great way to understand how they could be implemented effectively. While showcasing how the learner journey and other areas of the LXP would look for the learners.

This allowed me time to newly appreciate all the features the the LXP offers to assist our learners and managers in increasing their knowledge, engagement and overall participation with the experience and content.

Staff and Resources

Mapping out from start to finish the rollout stage of the project was challenging for me, having to visualise each of the roles and their individual responsibilities due to currently working in a small team. Still, it provided an excellent opportunity to gain insight and knowledge of who will be involved and think about how we currently operate in comparison.

I acknowledge that this can be a typical case within our organisations as we don't have dedicated staff filling all the specific roles, so it's with certain team members to wear multiple hats. I can see the value in having specific functions that have their own actions, as this ensures all tasks are completed, and nothing is missed, which could happen if an individual is juggling multiple elements. Having a soft launch for the rollout has the additional benefit of increased quality assurance and user feedback.

With this all in mind, this is an area where I will add more focus to plan the steps efficiently and understand when I need to switch my method of thinking to manage each task correctly, for example, from a Community manager to an LXP tester to complete the job to a high standard having deadlines to soft launch the project in the relevant time frame correctly to the best standard possible.

Launch Plan

Learning from the content provided within module 9 about each area of the launch plan and planning it to maximise potential, taking the steps for the project to have the necessary communication for users and taking into consideration the Seek, Sense, Share Framework, I can appreciate the value for communicating, marketing and supporting correctly to the users, and that it's critical, they need to be fully onboard and committed, or we may encounter disconnect and resistance. It is vital we provide them with the correct path to follow and showcase how this content is beneficial not just within their role but how it will affect them outside of work, too.

Learner Engagement Tactics and Rationale

Similar to the Learning Platform and Functionalities, making a detailed list helped educate me on various ways we can implement new and intuitive aspects that I wasn't previously familiar with or didn't utilise enough on the LXP that could massively increase user retention and completion. E.g. Automated reminders/push notifications, open introduction webinars and weekly delivered social questions and interactions.

Prompting and keeping users engaged, growing a social community and keeping content and learning fun, mobile and interactive are key areas of our success. We have a wide variety of staff who all work and learn differently, so it's essential they are always wanting to come back and learn more. I will definitely be implementing what I have learned from this part of the project into my ongoing role.

Seek, Sense, Share Framework

To ensure the rollout is successful and is targeted to the right audience, I reviewed all elements created so far against the Seek, Sense, Share framework as follows;

Seek: I looked over the individual learning personas which were created through discussions with relevant colleagues to make sure the content and method of delivery were favourable to what the target audience needs for their way of learning.

Sense: I looked over good practice and content creation, ensuring there were engaging learning experiences with information and materials and improved through discussions with SMEs.

Share: The share element is most important for part 3 of the project, where I looked at utilising all of the features of the LXP to create a project delivery plan that puts the right people into the right places and delivers high-value engagement and learning impact.

Jarche, H.
