Martin Luther King Jr.'s first movement that he lead was the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955 after Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat for a white man. This boycott gave King national recognition and he became a target for white terrorists.
On January 30, 1956, a white supremacist drove by King's house and threw a bomb onto his porch, thankfully Coretta Scott and their 7 month-old child were not harmed. The news spread quickly about the bombing and a group of his supporters gathered at King's house, they were furious. Although King told the crowd, “I want you to love our enemies, be good to them, love them, and let them know you love them.”

Despite MLK's work, over his entire life he was harassed, touched, arrested, served lots of time in jail, got threats, and later assassinated. He had to work hard for where our society is now which even is not complete.

Dr. King Jr. at the Washington Monument as he gave his "I have a dream" speech.

In MLK Jr.'s life he had been through many difficulties.
Born on January 15th, 1929 MLK Jr. grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. His father and late grandfather were both pastors at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. King Jr. had two siblings, his older sister Willie Christine, and his younger brother Alfred Daniel Williams King. The household was a loving place with King Sr. being a bit more strict than Mrs.Williams King.

The King parents tried to protect their children best they could from racism, unfortunately, they still had to experience that like many other people of color.
When King Jr. was 12 years old, his grandmother had passed away from a heart attack, the situation was traumatic for King not only because of the passing but he had witnessed his parents get paraded. Because of those incidents, King Jr. had attempted suicide by jumping off of the second-story window from his house.

At age 15, MLK Jr. had skipped 9th and 11th grade and went to Morehouse College. Then in 1948 King graduated and went to the liberal Crozer Theological Seminary college. At Morehouse, King was able to find his spirit again in Christianity and through it found hope for social change in it.
At the last college in Boston (New England Conservatory) King met Coretta Scott. Later in 1953 they got married and had their four children, Martin Luther King III, Dexter Scott, Yolanda, and Bernice.

On March 28th, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. lead a march with about 6,000 people for the striking sanitation workers in Memphis, Tennessee. The march ended up being violent which included looting. Dr. King was rushed from the scene. On April 4th King returns to Memphis hoping to lead a peaceful march, he gave his final speech "I've been to the mountain top."
Then later the next day (April 4th) King stood on the balcony in the Lorraine Motel.
