The nonfiction Story The "The Trail of Tears by Jeanne Williams, is a story about a Native American Tribe that is getting driven out of their homeland by the United States's Government. It tells the story from the people in the Cherokee Tribe. The story begins with people describing their everyday life and how they tried their best to stay away from the white settlers. The tribe was very content with their land and did not want to migrate away from there land. Then panic hit them when they found out the United States was on there way to kick them out of their land. The Whites have arrived and forced us to pack everything up and go west of the Mississippi. The tribe had no choice but to listen because the whites came in and willing to shoot them if they did not listen. Two days had passed and the Cherokee people had packed up their entire village. The whites were extremely harsh to the people of the Cherokee. The book does a great job of describing the climate that they were forced to walk through. Many people have died form disease and starvation but those who survived got to set up there village far from the old one. Just west of the Mississippi River. New lands that none of them knew but they had to figure it out because that was were they had to stay.
