Hi everyone! My name is Alejandro Escalera.
I’m a nurse currently attending Gavilan College, where I’m studying to become a Nurse Practitioner. My passion lies in helping others in any way I can. What I’m most proud of is being a father—I have two kids under the age of five, and my world revolves around them when they’re with me. I’m a lifelong learner who believes in growing at your own pace and always supporting others on their journey.

I’m a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with experience in hospice care, geriatrics, and rehabilitation. Currently, I help manage programs at Gavilan College and tutor students in the Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy programs. I also run a nonprofit organization focused on supporting underserved communities, and I partner with local churches to assist individuals and families facing hardship. My work is driven by a passion for service and a desire to make a lasting impact.

My ultimate goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner and open a free community clinic to provide quality care to those in need. I also plan to open supportive homes—one for battered women and another for youth struggling with addiction. In addition to healthcare, I’m passionate about helping others through education, mentorship, and public speaking. Every step I take in school and work is part of building a legacy rooted in kindness, service, and creating opportunities for others.

I believe healing our communities starts with addressing generational trauma—and it begins with us standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Many people feel trapped with no way out, but with the right tools and support, I believe I can help bridge that gap so they can heal, grow, and improve their quality of life.
