In the unification, most of the German-speaking states of Europe united under the crown of Prussia to form the German Empire.&nbsp;The main reasons were because of the strength of the Prussian economy, the decline of Austria, and the military power of Prussia.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The unification of Germany was guided by one man of the name of Otto Von Bismarck. He was born on April 1, 1815 in Schonhausen in the Kingdom of Prussia. After years of service, Bismarck rose to the office of minister president of Prussia. The Franco-Prussian War of 1870 to 1871, lead by Bismarck to draw the western German states into alliance with the North German Confederation. With the French defeat, the German Empire was proclaimed in 1871 in the Palace at Versailles, France.<br><br></div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
