We can all contribute to limiting climate change. From the way we get around, to the electricity we use, to the food we eat and what we buy, we can make a difference. Start with these ten actions to help tackle the climate crisis.

Greenhouse gas emissions per person vary greatly between countries. A person living in the United States of America produces, on average, about 17.6 tons of CO2e per year (about 10 times more than a person living in India and about three times the world average). In the European Union and the United Kingdom, the average footprint is approximately 7.9 tons of CO2e per person per year.

To maintain a livable climate, the average emissions per person per year have to drop to around 2 to 2.5 tons of CO2e by 2030.

One of those changes that you can improve is to stop using cars and use more bikes or public transport

The world's roads are saturated with vehicles, most of which use diesel or gasoline. Walking or cycling, instead of driving, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and is beneficial to health and fitness. For longer distances, consider traveling by train or bus. And carpool whenever possible. Living without a car can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 2 tons of CO2 (equivalent) per year compared to a car-based lifestyle. Switching from a mixed diet to a vegetarian one can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 500 kilograms of CO2 (equivalent) per year (or up to 900 kilograms if it's a vegan diet).

This leads to global warming and climate change. The world is warming faster than at any other time in recorded history. Causes of climate change:
