REMEMBER - how to act when we travel together as a group:

1) Pee on the plane before arrival - so we don't have to wait for anyone during transit!

2) Swap places on the planes - do it AFTER departure - when the seatbelt sign is off - and ALWAY ASK NICELY! Do not bother anyone else! You will survive sitting between strangers!

3) When we land - WAIT outside the plane the first place that we are not in anyones way!

4) We will go through all the checkpoints together - and when we have found our way to the gate - you are free to go explore.

5) You get food money from Mette. BRING a big packed "dinner" to eat in Honolulu Airport. No FREE food will be served on the flight from Honolulu to Minneapolis

6) In Minnepolis we will give you 30 USD each to cover breakfast and lunch during our time in the airport.

ESTA VISAS

All our students need an ESTA Visa to enter the US.
We cannot apply for that VISA before November 21st 2023.

We will do it all together at school - and the students need their passports to do so.

The Teachers going on the Trip

Rene is the E-sports teacher at T.I. He is also a contact teacher for some students. He has a background as a pedagog - and the studnets know him very well!
It is Renes first time in Hawaii. So he is just as excited as the students are!

Before working at T.I she was a traveling facilitator for Danish Groups traveling around the Hawaiian islands. She has lived in Waikiki beach back in 2015/2016.

She was also in Hawaii last year with T.I. AND she is super excited about taking the students to all the beautiful places Oahu has to offer!

Vaccinations - Parents!! please read!!

Dear parents.

Please make sure your child has the right vaccinations to travel to America.

The Danish Serum Institute recommend 2 vaccinations:

1) Difteri /

diphtheria

2) stivkrampe /

tetanus

Most kids have them when they are small - but they can be outdated! Please check up - and make sure your child is properly vaccinated for going to America.

Show up in your swimsuits, leave you phone at home, and cover yourself in sunscreen (Factor 50) - especially your face!

14.00: Snorkeling by the pier. Come and join - or chill on the beach.

18.00:Departure for the Fireworks show by the Hilton Hotel. Bring something to sit on on the beach.

08.00 Hiking to the Koko Head Crater. We are taking the public bus there.

Bring: BUSPASS, Packed lunch, lots of water, snacks, sunscreen a hat. Everything packed in a backpack. And wear good walking shoes!

Kokohead has the craziest view - BUT it is quite the climb.

11.30 The Alohoa stadium Market
13.30: Latest time to leave the Aloha stadium market. Walk to Pearl Harbour. approx 30 minutes.

14.00: Check in Pearl Harbour (Find Mette by the entrance - she has the tickets)
14.45. Check in at the Movie theater (in Pearl Harbour) starts at 15.00. BE ON TIME!!!!!

13.30: Walk to Diamond Head. Meet at hotel pool.

Bring water, good shoes, snacks, wear swimsuit under your regular clothes - and maybe your buspass. You are free to take the Bus home from Diamond head after we are done up there.

18.30: Leaving for grocery shopping. We are buying food for the next 2 days. REMEMBER TO BRING BAGS FOR YOUR GROCERIES

Kualoa Ranch:

We are leaving the hotel at 7.45!!! BE ON TIME!!!

Back in Waikiki around 17.00

We have booked a half day trip.

It means:

1) Movie sights tour (jurassic park is filmed there - + 200 other movies)

2) Sailing trip in beautiful scenary.

3) Buffet lunch

The ranch is in the most beatiful scenery - so you want to bring your camera for today! It will for sure be great!!

Eat a super fast dinner - and then we will take the bus to sharks tank and watch basketball! The mens' game start at 6.30

EVENING activity:

HPU SHARKS are playing basketball against a team from the mainland. We bought tickets.

Women play from 4.30 - men play from 6.30. It will be played in Sharks tank!

Its gonna be great!!

Friday 1st of March - Pillboxes trail and Lanikai beach

We meet by the pool at 09.00

The most beautiful hike ever!

We are taking the bus to Lanikai, hiking on the crater rim - and finishing of with some beach time in really beautiful Lanikai Beach!!

Bring:

Lots of water, bus pass, packed lunch, wear good walking shoes, cap, sunscreen and bring you camera and snorkelset and towel.

There are NO changing facilities by the beach.

Full day trip - we are crossing the island - so it will be a long - but great day!!

Saturday 2nd of March -Polynesian Cultural center - ALL DAY

Full day at Polynesian Cultural center.

Eat a big breakfast/early lunch before we leave.

BE READY TO LEAVE THE HOTEL AT 10.00 am.

First we have time to explore the 6 islands on our own.
Dinner is included - and the buffet starts at 4.30.
The show starts at 7.30 - 8.45
We will be back at the hotel around 22.00

Checkout has to be done before 11.45.
Luggage can be stored at Mettes room. 890. Stop by and drop off your suitcase between 11 and 11.30
You will not be able to access you luggage again before 14.40
We are leaving for the airport at 15.00. The "partybus" will pick us up :)

Food leftovers? They can be donated to the Hotel - so don't through any food out someone else will be able to enjoy!
AT 12.10 we meet in front of our hotel entrance and then we go for lunch at California Pizza kitchen. The school pays! Check out menu beforehand.

What to put in your Hand luggage - TI-Backpack (MANDATORY TO BRING)

1 extra set of clothes. Just underwear, shorts and t-shirt. If you luggage goes missing you will be grateful for an extra set of clothes.
PASSPORT!!!
Headphones - great on the plane
Waterbottle - a hydro flask is nice - it will keep your water cold when we go hiking - but otherwise the TI-bottle is fine too! BTW: You can drink the tap water in Hawaii.
Phone, Charger

For the rest of the trip we recommend:

Active clothing - we will be walking a lot!
Sunscreen - (Mettes recommendation - factor 50. WATERPROOF)
Sunscreen for you face to!!
Cap!
Sunglasses
Swimsuits
Great walking shoes. Trainers are fine!
Pack a set of nice clothes for restaurant visits (Waikiki is full of great places to eat!)
YOU DONT NEED TO BRING YOUR COMPUTER!
Slippers
Waterbottle!!! Really important.
A plastic box for your packed lunches! You are gonna thank yourself for bringing it!
The toiletries you can't live without! (Mosquitos are not a big issue.)
Snorkel set! Snorkeling is free on Hawaii - and it is always great to have it in your backpack!
Totebag - when going to the beach or the mall.
Beach towel
Yellow health insurance card (and any other important health information that is relevant)

Anything else? Ask Mette :)

You can more or less forget everything - and we will be able to buy it over there! BUT DONT LOOSE YOUR PASSPORT!!!

Pro-advice:

Don't fill your suitcase! You will most likely buy something over there! And you will need the extra space on the way home! :)
