Most serious athletes will tell you that the competitive drive to win can be fierce. Besides the satisfaction of personal accomplishment, athletes often pursue dreams of winning a medal for their country or securing a spot on a professional team. In such an environment, the use of performance-enhancing drugs has become increasingly common.

But using performance-enhancing drugs — aka, doping — isn't without risks. Take the time to learn about the potential benefits, the health risks and the many unknowns regarding so-called performance-enhancing drugs such as anabolic steroids, androstenedione, human growth hormone, erythropoietin, diuretics, creatine and stimulants. You may decide that the benefits aren't worth the risks.
https://www.mayoclinic.org

Alex
Drugs improve performance
There are over-the-counter legal drugs that improve performance without any side effects if taken according to the packaging or your doctor. These drugs are caffeine, chromium picolinate, and ubiquinone. The only reason these drugs would give a side effect if you had a medical condition, an allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ask your doctor before taking these drugs as it will generally make it safer to use.
Caffeine is a socially acceptable drug that does not require you to go to a pharmacy. It has not been proven to harm the human body and so it is harmless to humans so far. It does not have any side effects if taken and will extend the time for muscular fatigue which will allow you to stay active for longer.
Chromium picolinate is a mineral that your body needs and works with insulin to metabolize carbohydrates which basically means it turns the carbohydrates. This helps with utilising fat but requires regular workouts.
Ubiquinone is used to convert calories into ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and will help you be more active without getting tired as it will make more energy for your muscles.
Bibliography
https://www.pledgesports.org
https://www.drugs.com

Adolescence and Drug use

For most people, using drugs is just another way of altering consciousness that is not so different from many other recreational activities. However, for the relatively small number of people who develop more compulsive drug-using patterns, drug use is not just about having fun, relaxing or for 'partying'. It usually serves a deeper purpose (such as helping enhance identity, acceptance, and reducing psychological distress or a sense of alienation)
Adolescence is also a time of happiness, experimentation, celebration and fun and just as adults derive pleasure from using drugs, so can young people. Sharing an intoxicated time with friends can be a bonding experience. It can heighten a sense of group membership and belonging. Risk-taking is also a normal part of development and experimenting with psycho-active drugs is just one of the many risks that some young people will take during this time of great change.
http://www.health.gov.au

Drugs are chemicals. Different drugs, because of their chemical structures, can affect the body in different ways. In fact, some drugs can even change a person's body and brain in ways that last long after the person has stopped taking drugs, maybe even permanently.

Depending on the drug, it can enter the human body in a number of ways, including injection, inhalation, and ingestion. The method of how it enters the body impacts on how the drug affects the person. For example: injection takes the drug directly into the blood stream, providing more immediate effects; while ingestion requires the drug to pass through the digestive system, delaying the effects.

Most abused drugs directly or indirectly target the brain's reward system by flooding the circuit with dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter present in regions of the brain that regulate movement, emotion, cognition, motivation, and feelings of pleasure. When drugs enter the brain, they can actually change how the brain performs its jobs. These changes are what lead to compulsive drug use, the hallmark of addiction.
https://recovergateway.org/substance-abuse-resources/drug-addiction-effects/

Reasons On How People Use Drugs To Cope With Stress

Young adults mid range from around to 20- 30 use drugs to cope with stress such as a lot of homework, bullying, having trouble sleeping, conflicts etc. They take the drug for the stress purpose and when they overcome the stress, they get addicted to the drug. They take it over and over again, never stopping and it can cause death, bad health, and can affect the brain and the cells in your body.

Stress can cause changes in the brain like those caused by addictive drugs. This suggests that some people who experienced stress maybe more vulnerable to drug addiction. Reducing stress in your everyday life is vital for maintaining your overall health, as it can improve your mood, boost immune function and allow you to be more productive. Stress has such a powerful impact on your well being because it is a natural response that is activated in the brain. Don’t take bad drug as always said because it can cause addiction and addiction is usually not so good.

Divorce rates in Australia are quite high as around 40% of families are likely to end up in a divorce. This is a very high rate and is very bad for children who may have witnessed this happening. When children see this, they get stressed out and may not be able to cope with the stress involved, they may also get bullied at school because of them not having a full family and this can build up there stress. When this happens, they are likely to take drugs as they would’ve had no other option.

When teenagers start high school, making the right friends are always essential. Making the wrong friends like friends who smoke or take drugs lead to problems where teenagers are forced by peer pressure to take drugs. Sometimes when they realise that they have made the wrong friends, it would have been too late and there would have been no turning back.

Jennifer and Ashlyn
http://headsup.scholastic.com/students/stress-and-drug-abuse

PEOPLE WANT TO TAKE DRUGS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO EXPERIMENT Teenagers are willing to take drugs because they want to:Experiment●	Teenagers are willing to experiment with drugs out of curiosity, to see whether they like it or dislike it. By experimenting with drugs, they are able to understand the side effects and how drugs affect them.●	In addition, peer pressure or teenage friendship groups could be the possibly taking drugs and by experimenting with them, and by doing this they are able to have a sense of belonging in their group, because others consume drugs. By experimenting with drugs, it may have a positive impact on the person, because after he/she has been experimenting, they know the side effects of drug abuse and realize that they shouldn't be taking drugs. And they could of realised that they don't have great friends either. ●	On television, ads are able to convince people into purchasing products and do certain activities. This can lead to young teenagers wanting to experiment with drugs because of the influence of television. ●	Depression is also another mental symptom that many teenagers experience. Often, they are trying to find a solution and unfortunately, this particular activity could be one of them. Sometimes by consuming drugs, it could make a person forget about their worries and feel happier. However, all these experiences are temporary, and could make the consumer feel even more depressed during the after effects.●	High School students may experience stress with the schedule, amount of homework and extracurricular activities. Students are always trying to find a way to calm down and to not stress as it is not beneficial for the body. Experimenting with drugs could be a way that students relax, drugs such as marijuana have that effect. ●	If there is a genetic family history of drug addiction, teenagers may be exposed to them. Their parents will be addicts, thus creating a false illusion of the concept of drug addiction. Caretakers and family members are a large influence during a child’s stage of growing up, and by exposing them to such could cause a unsafe childhood.
