My children have excelled at CCS because of their teachers and the support they feel when entering the building daily. My kids, although they love summer, were disappointed when I shared with them that they only had 15 days left of the school year. She was not only my teacher but also my FBLA director! Because of the impact she has made on me, I have gone to college and succeeded! For interviews, I knew what to do. Because she believed in me to have a leadership role in FBLA, it had made it possible for me to hold an officer position within my sorority and I am now in line to become president next semester. I have made connections with people about being in FBLA that has helped me tremendously, I would have not been in FBLA if it wasn’t for her. Also, my major is Elementary Education and a required class I have had to take is Teacher Technology. I excelled in that class because of all the skills I learned in her Computer Science class. I was the student that my classmates would come to for help with assignments. If it wasn’t for Dr. Rains, I do not believe i would have been given the opportunities that I have been. Dr. DeGuire taught me to enjoy reading and lastly Ms.Rasbury managed to teach me to tolerate math. He still refers to her has one of his “favorite “ teacher’s throughout his younger school years. He talks about how she was always sweet, loving, and caring to him. All it takes is the little things to make such a big impact on a small child. Teachers may not realize that a little simple smile or hug makes them memorable but it does. Every time he visits me at the Complex he ask to go to her classroom to visit her. They also share a special day…. Their birthday and he makes sure I tell her Happy Birthday from him! He loves her tons for making him feel comfortable and welcomed in a new environment on day 1 of school. He is a rowdy boy and at times had a hard time adjusting. She knew just what to do and was very patient with him. She has a heart of gold and loved him like her own and still does!
