In the first week of Usrah, our group get to know each other by introducing each other names. The taaruf session went fine and smoothly. Then we proceed for our first topic which is 🎀Adab in Seeking Knowledge🎀

Before we begin our discussion, we recite Surah Al-Isra

( 9-21 ) as our introduction for this week's topic.

There are a few points that Sr Dania had discuss with us about this topic which is:-

📍Intention

First, we must purify the intention of why we want to seek knowledge. As a muslim, it had to be the intention of pleasing Allah, benefiting others and improve oneself. We should not have the intentions of seeking knowledge to show off and be arrogant.

📍Respect Teachers

No matter how successful or brilliant we are, we must show a good manners towards our teacher. There are few example of small action that can show our respect to them; come to the class early, wearing shariah compliance attire and focus in class. This etiquette implies that honoring teachers is a way of showing gratitude to the knowledge they share, which ultimately comes from Allah.

📍Preparation before class

It is important to prepare for class, just as you prepare to go to school or work. We can read and try to understand the context of what will be learning before the class according to the timeline given by the lecturers. In this way, we can master the topic more effectively and long-lasting during the class. We may also encounter any questions to the lecturers for deepen knowledge.

During the discussion, Sr Dania also ask us to make a role play on the example of good manners towards lecturers to enhance our understanding.

Then, we conclude our usrah with the recitation of Surah Al Kahfi.

❤❤❤

Hence,

We and Sr Dania discussed about three types of Adab towards mankind which is:-

📍Adab towards parents

Always praying for them by recite a doa,

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْلِي ذُنُوبِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيْرًا

We must being patient and and tolerant instead of giving vent to their anger if they say or do anything that we don't like.

We must show our big gratitude to our parents by obeying them, always take care of their hearts and also do good service to them as its secures their blessings and grace in our life.

We must treasure all the moments with them and love them with our heart and soul to consider this as a privilege and a source of reward from Allah in the eternal world.

📍Adab towards neighbour

We must always respect our neighbour regardless their religion. As we are in a diversal country, we must respect other cultural despite their loud celebration.

To maintain the peaceful environment of the community, we must look after and be aware about the situation of neighbours by sharing or exchange foods because it is mentioned in Hadith:- The Messenger of Allah, (Peace and blessings be upon him) says:" He is not a believer who eats his fill whilst his neighbour beside him goes hungry."

📍Adab towards friends

We should choose friends who can positively influence us towards kindness and fulfill our rights as a Muslim.

Besides, we can't judge anyone who may don't satisfied the characteristic of a Muslim. We as a friends should company them towards the right path that can leads both of us to Allah and Paradise.

Avoid backbiting of our friends as relationship in Islam emphasize loyalty, trust and sincerity.

❤❤❤

The taaruf session went fine and smoothly. Then we proceed for our first topic which is 🎀Niat Amal Ihsan🎀

There are a few points that Sr Fatin had discuss with us about this topic which is:-

📍Intention

Intention (niyyah) refers to the inner resolve or purpose in one's heart to perform an action for the sake of Allah. It is essential for the acceptance of deeds, as actions are judged based on the intention behind them. A sincere intention to please Allah, rather than seeking personal gain or recognition, is a core principle in Islam.

📍Amal

Amal refers to good deeds or action performed by a person, with the intention to seek the pleasure of Allah.

One of the example of Amal in our daily life that Sr Fatin had mentioned is reciting a doa after waking up in the morning such as:

الحمد لله الذي أحيانا بعد ما أماتنا وإليه النشور

"All praise is due to Allah, who has given us life after He has caused us to die, and to Him is the return."

📍Ihsan

Ihsan refers to doing something with the utmost sincerity, care, and striving to perform acts of worship in the best possible manner, as though one sees Allah.

It's the highest level of faith, going beyond duty (Islam) and belief (Iman), and embodying beauty and excellence in every action.

For example, feeding a cat and smiling at everyone

Sr Fatin said that "Ibadah does not guarantee success, but it encourages success with blessings."

❤❤❤

For the second week of Usrah, the topic that we had discussed is 🎀Source of Hikmah from Ibadah🎀

📍Solat

To gain a blessed prayer, we should perform solat with sincere intention in worshipping Allah, feeling fear of Allah's punishment and always practice zikrillah as Islam preferred us to recite Dua Iftitah.

Solat reminded us of the Hereafter. Each prayer acts as a reminder of the ultimate purpose of life and prepares one for the final return to Allah.

In addition, Solat builds self-discipline and consistency as each prayer requires regularity (five times a day), teaching discipline and time management in one's life.

📍Sawm

Sawm strengthening taqwa by controlling desires and increasing awareness of Allah. Thus, we become more mindful of Allah's presence and commands.

Sawm purifies the soul by detaching it from worldly distractions and encourages a focus on spirituality and self-reflection.

Sawm also encourages one to appreciate the blessings of food, water, and daily comforts, and to develop gratitude for Allah's provisions

📍Zakat

Zakat purifies one’s wealth by giving a portion to those in need, and this act cleanses the heart from greed and attachment to materialism.

Giving zakat fosters humility by recognizing that wealth is a trust from Allah, and sharing it reflects generosity and care for others.

📍Haji

The rites of Haji symbolize various important moments in Islamic history, leading to a deeper understanding of sacrifice, faith, and devotion.

Performing Haji also increasing our taqwa as the long journey and the rituals, cultivate deep submission to Allah’s will and teachings.

In conclusion, there's no Ibadah that don't give benefit to us, as long as our intention is to seek the pleasure of Allah, all of our doings will get 'pahala' from Allah.

As this week is our last week in 2024, we play a game where we have to write our dua for next year and recite it.

For week 3 of Usrah, we had to conduct it online, which was a shame, but the discussion went fine and smoothly. The topic we discussed was 🎀Preparation to Solat with Khusyuk🎀

📍Ablution

Ensure our wudu is valid and complete. This will helps to purify ourselves from minor impurity (hadas kecil).

Thus, it is encouraged for us to cough 3 times during urinating to help expel any remaining urine so that complete purification can be done before performing ablution.

📍Find a quiet place

When performing solat, choose a clean and quiet place where we can avoid any distraction in order to build a peaceful environment to pray

📍Recite with understanding

When we know the meaning of our recitation in Solat, we tend to focus on the Quranic verse as we are speaking directly to Allah.

📍Correct posture

Stand in the correct position with humility, keeping your focus on Allah.

Maintain an upright posture also can strengthen our focus towards Solat. For example, during sujud, we’re closest to Allah, and the physical act of prostration reminds us of the significance of that moment, increasing our sense of connection to Allah.

📍Focus Your Intention (Niyyah)

Have a clear and sincere intention in your heart to perform the prayer for the sake of Allah. This aligns your heart with the act of worship.

❤❤❤

For Week 4 of Usrah, we continued our last week topic which is 🎀Importance of Solat with Khusyuk🎀 There are few points that we had discussed by presentation of each group.

📍Obedience

When one prays with full concentration, they submit to Allah's commands with sincerity and humility. Khusyuk helps strengthen a Muslim’s commitment to fulfilling religious duties, increasing their devotion and compliance with Allah's guidance.

📍Jihad

Jihad is internal struggle to maintain faith and righteousness.

Solat with khusyuk requires constant effort to maintain focus and resist distractions. Hence, it builds spiritual strength by battling the distractions of the world and helps cultivate patience and perseverance in both worship and daily life.

📍Self-reflection (Muhasabah)

Solat with khusyuk creates a time for deep reflection as it reminded us about our relationship with Allah, our shortcomings, and our need for forgiveness.

This self-awareness may affect our daily life to be more cautious of doing something bad and increase our intention to do amal ibadah.

📍Humility (Tawaddu)

Khusyuk in solat helps us detach from the distractions of the ego and worldly desires. When we are fully focused on Allah, our heart humbles itself, and our pride and arrogance fade.

This cultivates a state of tawaddu, as we are reminded that all power, success, and blessings come from Allah alone, leading to a deeper sense of humility.

In addition, it will improve one's character , fostering a humble attitude in everyday life.

📍Iffah

Solat with khusyuk promoting self-restraint that will lead a modest and pure life as it helps us resist sinful behaviors, encouraging a life of dignity, moral integrity, and purity.

Khusyuk purifies the heart by removing distractions and focusing solely on Allah. A purified heart is less likely to be drawn to immoral or immodest actions, thus enhancing our iffah by making modesty and chastity a natural part of our character.

❤❤❤

For week 5 of Usrah, the topic we discussed is 🎀Sabr Takrim Rahmah🎀 We discussed about how to practice these 3 values in our daily life during Sawm or even outside Ramadan.

📍Sabr

💎During sawm

By controlling hunger and anger during fasting , we become more aware of our emotions. Thus, we learn to restrain anger and avoid negative speech.

Use time wisely by engaging in prayer, Qur’an recitation, and acts of kindness to keep your mind and heart occupied

💎Outside Ramadan

Endure hardships while believing that Allah's help is near.

Respond with kindness rather than react with frustration while dealing with people whether in family, work or friendships.

📍Takrim

💎During sawm

Avoiding bad habits like gossip, anger, or bad language. Honor the sacredness of Ramadan by treating it with reverence.

Be mindful of others, especially those who are fasting, and avoid making them feel uncomfortable if they cannot eat or drink.

💎Outside Ramadan

Showing respect to everyone around you, especially elders and parents. Listening attentively, being kind, and helping those who need assistance to show respect in daily life.

Respect people’s views, cultures, and beliefs, and treat them with dignity, just as Islam teaches us to do.

📍Rahmah

💎During sawm

Fasting increases our empathy for those who are less fortunate, as we experience hunger. Use this feeling to give charity (zakat or sadaqah) and help others in need.

Being gentle and forgiving toward others, especially family members.

💎Outside Ramadan

Be compassionate in our daily interactions with everyone, especially the vulnerable—whether it’s giving a smile or helping a neighbor

We can also offer support to those who are struggling emotionally or financially. Compassion is about actively caring for others and being there when needed.

❤❤❤
