The experience of reading Extinction has altered my perspective of why wildlife organisations have little power to prevent extinctions, because the story provided a good explanation about why they were unable to save the Tiger Quoll or other species.

In writing Extinction, I believe Hannie Rayson wanted her audience to understand the reason why mass extinction isn't easily solvable.
