I used my fingers to create the nose and create the two nostrils. Then, I took two small pieces of clay I had cut out from another slab and place them on either sides of the nose. I used water to blend the eyes into the face. A bad handle can easily ruin your entire mug, so I had to be careful. I had cut multiple handles out from a slab, but some weren't the best size for the cup. After a few bad handles, I cut one out and it was a good thickness and length for the cup.
