In the lesson, they are going to share items about themselves and compare and contrast how they are the same and different. It shows the students how we are all diverse and offer a unique perspective in our communities.
Future lessons are going to compare and contrast the types of families they have, where they live, and other characteristics of their lives.

This provides a choice and makes it easier for them to talk about the objects. Students are working with partners which can help students talk out their ideas with someone and support each other. Students are moving around during the lesson, have opportunities to talk and to listen.
