In the passive voice, the subject of the sentence receives the action, instead of performing it.

-The passive voice in English is composed of two elements:
the appropriate form of the verb 'to be' + past participle

The passive is used when:
-We do not know who did the action (Ex: My car has been stolen!)
-We want to emphasize the receiver of the action (Ex: Example: This monument was built hundreds of years ago by the french.)

In fact, I bought all of those books in english. They were very difficult for me so I translated them into my language. It was a lot of work and my friends said i was crazy but i enjoyed it.
At the end of this, I had a huge vocabulary book full of new words and I look at those new words everyday. I remember them and  try to use them when I’m speaking or writing in english.”

This excerpt is from the audio in e-lesson number 5 which I liked because it showed various ways of learning or improving in a new language. Perhaps, I'll use some of this tatics to learn another language.
