welcome to ust shs, kinse freshies!! for sure excited and kabado kayo for this coming sy. it's normal to feel anxious entering this journey in a different environment, but just remember that you will adapt and eventually feel at home here in ust with your blockmates. my advice siguro is make friends that not only make you happy, but will also help you thrive this sy and find your support system. lastly, always prioritize your mental health, i know how draining school can be physically, mentally and emotionally. remember to take a step back when you feel overwhelmed, it's okay to rest and take breaks, but never give up no matter what because in the end it will all be worth it and you'll be so proud of yourselves and accomplishments, big or small.

All I can say is, do expect that there will be hardships or times in which you would want to cry and vent out to someone, times that you would feel very lonely and times in which you want time to stop. But despite of all of this remember to rest, have some time for yourself, do some “me time”, dress up, go out and have fun, even if you are just on your own. Plus I’ve met my best friends here, not knowing that they would be one of the best people in my life and how grateful I am for them. So I’m hoping you’ll find yours too. Good luck on your SHS journey!

Hello Freshies! Enjoy your journey here at ust shs, kahit minsan (madalas) nakaka stress, masaya naman all in all. Expect alot of late nights and cramming. My advice for you is to make friends and connect with others as much as you can para meron kayo kadamay sa stress HAHAHA. Another one is to remember not to worry too much about acads, kasi at the end of the day grades doesn't define you. Try niyo din mag time management, because in ust shs time is everything. Kapag may free time kayo or weekends try to do self care and spend time with your friends and family. Do not be afraid to reach out to your blockmates if you need help.

Hello FRESHIES! Welcome to UST-SHS. I’m sure excited na kayo to start your journey as an UST-SHS student with your blockmates and your profs as well. Itong journey nyo as an UST-SHS student ay hindi magiging madali pero at the end, di nyo aakalain na ambilis lang palang matapos and I’m sure magiging worth it lahat ng pagod at efforts nyo basta enjoy nyo lang, do your best, and don’t forget to do self care and rest din. Learn how to manage your time din kasi there will be times na sabay ang mga quizzes and petas and if nangyari yan tinatawag namin siya na “hell week,” pero wag kayong matakot diyan ha HAHAHA kasi I’m sure if you focus on your priorities, kakayanin nyo yan. Sa grades naman, wag kayong masyadong affected if may mababa man kayong grade kasi grades don’t define you and it’s definitely okay to make mistakes. Ako nga noon, I had a low grade on this subject pero I’m still proud of it because I know na ginawa ko yung best ko and yun I survived Grade 11. Pagdating naman sa friends, choose friends who will fully help and support you throughout this school year. And lastly, ito ang pinakaimportante, prioritize your mental health coz there will be times na drained na kayo sa mga school works and syempre if may time kayo, magrest kayo, magbonding kayo with your friends and family, magpatugtog kayo ng fav nyo na music, and gawin nyo din kung ano yung nagpapasaya sa inyo. Yun lang freshies! Kaya nyo yan, kayo pa! Good luck and God bless!

Some or most of you are probably entering a new environment so what I can advise is don’t forget na may adjustment stage kaya don’t be too harsh on yourself if ever na mahirapan kayo sa una. As cliché as it may sound, just believe in yourself na kaya mo no matter what. Fake it till you make it, joke ½. Also, surround yourself with the right people, believe me they will also play a big part sa shs journey niyo, especially sa Petas! There will be frustrations and/or disappointments pero in the end it will be worth it naman for your dreams and goals. Sooo good luck and enjoy, kinse freshies! <3

Being a SHS student is a sign that you are really growing up, as a person relating with you in that situation I'll tell you this nalang, time is really really fast don't take it for granted, balance studying and having fun because you need both and you don't want to miss out on both. Make sure to really start taking your life seriously this is a point in your life where every decision you make is crucial we're not kids anymore 😭😭😭 we need to start making our own smart decisions and start being grown up mature ppl even if we like it or not. Start planning your future and take it seriously because you'll really regret it, as I said SHS is where you need to start taking things seriously every move is crucial. If you have planned your future before starting shs well good job, I wish you well!!! first of all, CONGRATS nakapasok kayo sa ust! makakapag dp blast na din kayo sa wakas HAHAHAHA anyways welcome sa kinse, kung kinakabahan ka okay lang yan, excited ka lang kaya ganyan. expect na it's going to be a whole new environment kaya kung maninibago ka know that what you're feeling is normal, makakapag adjust ka din, just take your time! remember mahaba pa ang journey niyo, kaya sulitin niyo na and enjoy. expect na magiging mahirap ang academics niyo as you progress pero kaya niyo naman yan. ang mahalaga ay wag niyo pababayaan ang physical and mental health niyo, wag masyado mag pa pressure. take breaks and rest <3

So hello to all freshies and let me start by saying welcome to ust-shs, where you will be experiencing a whole new chapter! I know you guys are feeling all those mixed emotions, but don't you worry because normal lang yan. An advice that I can give to you is to always keep in mind that there is a first time for everything. Some first-time experiences are meaningless, while others are unforgettable. You should not let the fact that you have not done something prevent you from doing it. There will come a time talaga na ilalabas mo yung sarili mo sa comfort zone mo and you'll try different and new things as you grow and it is all part of learning, kaya wag kang matakot :))). The only piece of advice I can give you is to do not PROCRASTINATE. If you have free time, then use it to do your schoolwork and study in advance. Being in UST is a big step for you. I know it's difficult at first, but eventually you will find your strengths and capabilities and you'll fully adjust. You will definitely make it through SHS if you just find your own support system and circle of friends! Good luck on your journey as a thomasians freshies.

I Hope you had fun getting to know your blockmates before the actual classes have started. First, I want to congratulate you for having the courage to enter UST. It may have been a big step sainyo to come out sa mga comfort zone niyo and face the new challenges this university may bring, pero I assure you na this will be an experience of a lifetime. So ayon how was the Thomasian community for you? Masaya ba ang DP blast tradition HAHAHA aadvice ko siguro sainyo is always take the risk no matter how scared you may be, kahit pa sa recitations, applying for a position, leading a group work, joining organizations or kahit sa simpleng pag chat mo lang ng hi sa classmate mo, trust me na it will all be worth it. There are days na tiring talaga pero don’t forget to take a step back and breathe kahit pa minsan, kasi hindi lang naman sa academics umiikot ang buhay. Have fun kahit sa klase man dogshow lang kayo all u want pero syempre di mawawala ang respect sa mga taong nasa paligid mo, classmate man or prof. Ayon lang! goodluck sa shs life niyo as thomasians!!! alam ko na super excited na kayong lahat to see what's in store for you! chillax lang kayo kahit naghahalo-halo na yung kaba at excitement :) kayang kaya niyo yan! just be confident and be proud na u are a certified thomasian na!

here are my tips and advices hehe:

1. be active in group chats. this is where you can interact with your block and eventually make friends. super updated rin kayo if u are active sa gcs kasi jan nagssend ng announcements and chika yung block rep niyo or president hehe. finding your circle of friends will make your thomasian life easier and fun!

2. wag maging dumbbell haJKSHDASKJFHAJKSA just comply with your groupworks hehe teamwork will make the dream work nga! ANNNDD your PETAs will most likely be by group talaga and that is equivalent to 50% of your grade, so tulong tulong talaga sa group para maganda yung output!

3. yes to blockmate. HWJKHWADJKASHDAJKSDHASKJDHASKJDHASDKJSHJKASHDJHSAJKDHSJKDHSJKHSJKFHSDFJKSDHFJKSDHFSJKDFH hehe

Hello freshies! Congratulations, and welcome to UST! You're probably excited by now, and certainly nervous at the same time. But you know what, that's completely normal! Literally all of us has felt the same kaba and excitement as well nung freshies pa kami!! Ang masasabi or maisa-suggest ko lang talaga sainyo is that, makipag socialize and interact kayo sa class group chats niyo, para lagi kayong updated sa mga upcoming events and schedules, and para na rin magkaroon kayo ng bond or connection with your blockmates. If ever man na you're still struggling to step out of your comfort zone, or let's say, struggling to socialize pa with others, please feel free to message me! I'll do my best to help with your concerns, etc. ALSO, please, as much as possible, finish your school works agad para di matambakan, kasi grabe magbigay ng tasks minsan mga profs.. HAHAHAHA. And of course, contribute kayo sa mga group activities and huwag na huwag maging freeloader! Trust, group tasks are much easier to accomplish kapag lahat may naiaambag and kapag ka-close mo talaga mga groupmates mo HAHAHA (based on my personal experience yup).
