I love the company atmosphere which can push me to work harder and aspire my to learn more. I used to join the HSBC case competition when I was a freshmen, I got a nice achivement. But more importantly, I feel that the HSBC stuff are friendly, who also give me a lot of confidence and suggestion to tell me how to get better in this competition. Thus, HSBC give me a nice impression of the corporation atmosphere, also HSBC become my dreams company which I want to work within.

I’m interested in the major banking sector and HSBC is one of the biggest commercial banks in Hong Kong. And I believe that I’ll be able to learn a lot about this field no matter what department I work. Also, I’ve participated in a case study competition hosted by HSBC where I learnt a lot about the industry and modeling techniques. The competition left me some decent impression about HSBC and their culture.

HSBC has a more comprehensive management trainee program than the other banks. As one of the major banks in Hong Kong, I can get more international exposure and real-life experience in HSBC. Besides, I joined a company visit in HSBC last year. The working environment is very attractive. I believe I would enjoy working in HSBC with the nice view and the elites.

I joined a workshop organized by HSBC before. From the workshop, I learned the operations in HSBC like how the banking system working, how to manage the deposits, etc. After that, I found that I'm interested in it and that's why being a part of HSBC is one of my career goals.

First of all, I want to join a team that is kind and really willing to teach junior so that I can learn as much as I can. Besides, I hope I can receive hands on opportunity to conduct market research and report to my head but not just doing basic clerical work. However, I think every kind of duties is some sort of training and I am ready to take up any work assigned to me.

Do you have any related internship experience in the division you want to do?
Definitely! I worked in an asset management company called Eddid Financial before. I was assigned to conduct industry research on automobile manufacturer and its raw material providers like semiconductor and car radar. At first, I didn't know how to dig out useful information as most of the market news are vague. But later on, I learned to reas through companies' financial report to gather first-hand information. At the end, I generated and quality report and helped the company in investing in car manufacturing industry. I believe this is a good experience for me to engage in asset management division.
Did you join any society or competition related to asset management?
Yes! I joined the Chinese University Investment Research Society, which allowed me to work in team to generate an equity research report. Last semester, we finished a thorough research on Hermes, which also equip me to work in asset management.

-Why are you interested in the Hong Kong government’s civil service bureau?

-I have always been passionate about public service and have a strong desire to contribute to the community. During my internship with Hong Kong Tourism Board, I worked on a project that involved streamlining communication between departments to enhance operational efficiency. This experience gave me insight into the importance of effective governance and had inspired me to seek a role where I can further develop my skills.

-Are you going to continue your career for the following five years in the government sector or maybe you would jump out to the commercial world or educational work? And why would you have that choice

-For me, I do believe that I will stay in the government’s civil service bureau. As the career path of government job is stable and clear, which brings me incentive and a long term vision to my future career. If I jump to for example commercial world, there will be so many uncertainties and my salary may not maintain at the same level. On the other hand, for you as a student, you still have time and chance to decide your own career. You need to understand that what is your strength and what kind of person you are, then to determine your future.

Segue: What are you expected to learn form the position?

Reply: being a part of PR department in Hong Kong government's civil service bureau, I hope to learn more interpersonal and communication skills by the first-hand insights with different layers in the community. Moreover, I would like to enhance my real life practice experience in public relations which are beneficial for my future career.

Which sector are you interested in, why?
Personally, I'm interested in Financial sector and it is because I'm the financial sec in the Su of secondary school. For lot of financing item and act of SU I found its very interesting. I think the skills learnt will help me in this sector.
What skills or experience you have that you think it will be helpful in your sector
I think the skills of designing is very imp in my sector, marketNg. Because mkt job require skills in promotional channels such as facebook. For example, I've been working in a tutorial centre as an administrative officer. My supervisor req me to have I mkting company on a summer course discount and I've to make it via canva and I have to manage it… therefore it's important for marketing officer to have this skills in some promotional channel.
What do you expect you can gain from, in your job position in my interested sector.
Just like you, my supervisor in my interested industry may ask me to finish many tasks in a limited of time esp my dream department is sales and trading. Hearing that from seniors and frds of mine which the s&t floors are so intensive, which people have to finish tasks under highly-pressured environment. I think my time management skills and also ability in working under intense environment maybe improved.

a. What have you learnt in college and what skills did you acquired that’s suitable for the job?

b. I’m a ibba student and I concentrated in marketing and hr management. I’ve long been interested in the luxury marketing industry and branding. So I took a lot of relevant courses and practiced my professional skills in internship opportunities provided by the department. By utilizing the knowledge in real life situations, I found them more fascinating. Now I believe that I’m suitable for the marketing position which is my objective one.

c. How about your major and how does it match your potential job position?

d. Utilizing textbook knowledge in really life is interesting indeed. I’m a PACC student and my dream job is consulting. When I learnt knowledge about finance, economic and accounting, I found them all relevant in a way. And in my internship at tax consulting department, I got the chance to analyze clients’ financial situation with all those skills and gave advices on their future plans. That made me more enthusiastic about consulting.
