Through the Moral Law, God shows us how we can become truly happy. Grace given by God, allows us to develop virtues to live our lives more freely. These virtues allow us to build strong friendships. When we follow the Moral Law and develop virtue, we are able to recognize our faults and allow God to heal us from the punishments of sin.

Happiness and relationships is probably what everyone wants in life, but it is barely known how to get it. In the Chronicles of Narnia Aslan represents Christ, and he says, "You do not look so happy as I mean you to be." The quote hints that there is more to know, and to love. In Catholic Moral Life we learn God's desire for our happiness through the Moral Law, which can however be diminished through sin, but all relationships and happiness can be lived fruitfully by being virtuous.

The Moral Law maximizes our happiness and freedom. This basically means that when we live out these Moral Acts we are becoming mor free and gaining happiness. There are six types of Laws; Eternal, Natural, Old and New Law, Civil, and Ecclesial Law. Relativism and Legalism essentially draw us back from living out the Moral Law. They bring us away from relationships as well as away from God.

Most people have different dispositions towards sin. God cast a living light on our sin to heal it. It's not just about avoiding sin, but choosing in favor of our happiness. Sin is our own punishment. The more we know about our sin the easier it is for us to allow God to show us his mercy.
