Zelinger uses humor throughout the book to teach the readers about feminism and address the myths that are commonly thought about feminism. A Little F'd Up is very informative and the authors use of humor allows her to be more honest about her beliefs on feminism.

The Amelia Bloomer Book Project has four criteria in selecting books; significant feminist content, excellence in writing, appealing format, and age appropriateness for young readers. A Little F'd Up fits all four criteria. It contains significant feminist content; the entire book is about feminism and is written from the authors point of view as a feminist. The author, Julie Zelinger has been named one of eight most influential bloggers under 21 by Women's Day Magazine, which proves how she excels in writing. The book has appealing format, mainly because of her humor and honesty, but also because of how she writes. Zelinger wrote the book as if it was for her blog which made it easier to read and not as straight-forward and serious. And lastly, it also fits the age appropriateness for young readers criteria; the author wrote this book with the intended audience to be young women in their teens.
