ICT games for mathematics helps students to focus on content by focusing on one standard and allowing students the opportunity to practice the skills for each standard at their own pace. For example, one of the ICT games is Funky Mummy, where students can choose to practice with addition/subtraction facts within 10 or within 20. Students are fully engaged in the games and learning/practicing with these games is fun. There are multiple choices for games to fit the standards you are teaching.

The math games on ICTgames.com are a lot of fun for students and there is variety. These games definitely hold the attention of students and I enjoy introducing the math games to students because I know that not only will they have fun playing them, but they'll learn in the process. These games reinforce what is being taught in my classroom.
The way the games are set up helps students to scaffold into larger numbers and more advanced mathematical concepts. For example, students can play the game Save the Whale and build number bonds of 10. They can also play Funky Mummy and practice with addition/subtraction. They can also go on to more advanced mathematical strategies in Catapult Count On, where they begin with any number (single or two-digit) and have to count on a certain number to launch the catapult.

The games on ictgames.com allow for students to bring their learning and practice home. I've had students ask me for the website info so that they can play the math games at home--for fun! Sometimes when we have indoor recess, students ask to play these math games. These games allow students to explore many ways to practice the skill they need to master and to have fun while doing it. Other games challenge them, helping to build on their mathematical skill sets.
