Students were able to research and write at their own pace, and choose the format that best demonstrated their learning.  


]]> 2021-05-26 15:08:18 UTC https://padlet.com/VILS/6loctb0odujp8e1j/wish/1561745693 Standards based grading lite with student choice and branching google forms stephen_foster https://padlet.com/VILS/6loctb0odujp8e1j/wish/1561758228 Ms. Ray and Mr. Pruitt are dipping their toes into standards-based grading.  Their 8th grade Social Studies students are given mastery tasks to complete at various levels.  Students have a choice on how they want to respond to the task, and on how many points they want to earn.  When a student answers a question incorrectly, they are then taken to a reteaching opportunity (via a branching Google Form).  This year has been all about trying out new technologies, strategies, and pedagogies; experimenting with this way of teaching and grading will definitely help to inform the Social Studies practice for next year!
