I think providing people with a safe place to use drugs is not an effective way to cure an addiction. If the country wants to do something to help drug addicts, it should increase its funding of rehab programs. Trying to make drug use safer is sending a very wrong message. A lot of people do not use drugs just because they are dangerous. Making them safer to use is providing an incentive to start.

I think this is an interesting and good way for drug addicts to get their high but in a safer way than if they were doing it by themselves. They have doctors supervising them as they do this so they can't overdose. One person said he would be dead if he were not at the safe house. It is also good because the doctors provide the clean needles to them.

Providing them clean needles is good, for not developing HIV and other diseases. It is good that the nurses are there incase they overdose. But, the safe house is only feeding their addiction and providing them tools to keep it going. The goal shouldn't be to save someone from an overdose, it should be that there shouldn't be overdoses in the first place. To fix the problem, these addicts should be seeking help at a rehab facility. Instead of operating these houses, there should be more funding and support for rehab facilities.

This makes it so there's a safe place for the people who need to do drugs. They're being watched by nurses to make sure that they are using clean needles so they don't catch anything, and also so they don't overdose and die. People are going to do drugs either way, and I think it's good that they have a safe place to do it.
