My name is King James I and I was the first Puritan King after the Great Queen Elizabeth. I was the first English King to translate the Bible into English and we called it the King James Bible. I was honored to be a part of the founding of Jamestown; a prominent settlement in the newly acquired lands of America.

My name is King Charles I and I believed in the divine right of Kings which continued the struggle with Parliament over taxation, governance, and religion. After my conflict with Parliament that dissolved the government body more than once, it quickly led to the English Civil War in 1642. During the war, my forces were called Royalist or the Cavaliers while the other side was led by Oliver Cromwell and his forces were called Round heads which led to defeat and James I was executed for treason against his country.

My name is King Oliver Cromwell and I emerged as a military leader during the English Civil War and I am a Puritan Army General. Because of my performance in the Civil War, I was crowned the Lord Protector which I ruled England until I died in 1658. I changed the government of England by abolishing the Monarchy and establishing the Commonwealth; I am known for the execution of King James I and also for ruling England as a military dictator.

Charles II (1658-1685)

My name is King Charles II and I was banished to France by Cromwell because of a threat I posed to the throne as Charles I's son. After Cromwell passed away I made my return to England and restored the Monarchy which named that time period as Restoration. During my ruling, I sought to heal all the wounds left by the civil war and then made a document pursuing a policy of religious tolerance called the Deceleration of Indulgence.

My name is King James II and I am the Roman Catholic brother of Charles II. Since James II had 12 illegitimate children, I will be the last Roman Catholic King of England, Ireland, and Scotland. Because England is mostly Protestant, I had many challenges regarding religion which led to the Glorious Revolution of England.
