Its a pretty interesting and heavy book. Its about a severe case of child abuse and the story of Dave Pelzer. I think that the book is pretty interesting. We all think the book is really heavy and that the mother is mean. My favorite parts was when Dave was able to come up with tactics in the book to survive. The book is so good and I am really looking foward to what appens next in the book.

There are lots of interesting parts but one that catches my eye the most is how the mother starts treating David for when the lady from social services comes. Soo.. in pages 123 to 126 she starts telling David that she wanted too live a better life and wanted to stop the beatings, punishments etc. But then it turns out she only behaved like that because a lady from social services was coming.

What interests me here is how well she convinced David that she indeed loves him. I believe that mother could still act like a great mother but chooses not to. For example when she stabs David by accident in pg 87 she starts trying to help David by treating his wound. Then in pg 93 and 94 mother lets David be outside and celebrate 4th of July. What I interpret from this is that She can still be a loving mother in certain circumstances but she is also unstable so much that it affects her behavior towards David
