Write a letter to a younger student who just experienced their first earthquake and is feeling nervous. Your job is to comfort them and give advice, just like Min Thura did.

Dear Earthquake Rookie,

I know you felt scared of your first earthquake you felt. I used to feel the same too! I genuinely felt scared and terrified because of that.

Everything was shaking, and I used to panic when things like this happened. I know this isn't and earthquake, but one time my school bell caught on FIRE! I used to panic and run quickly to the exit.

I'm getting used to keeping calm in scary situations, for example school shootings and earthquakes. I'm getting used to follow earthquake drills, especially in schools.

Now, I'm used to keeping an emergency kit wherever I go. I'm used to having an emergency plan at all times.

Here's some advice: When an earthquake occurs, nide under a sturdy table or desk. This will prevent falling debris from injuring you. Use the stairs instead of the elevator when evacuating. When you are outside, stay away from open areas. Buildings will collapse at any time and they unpredictable. You'll get used to these, I promise.

Best Regards,

-Lucas

Hii!

I know exactly how you feel, earthquake rookie. I used to panic and scream my lungs out too whenever I got slightly scared by something(it's ridiculous, I know). I didn't have any experience of earthquakes when I was younger, so that just made things worse. I thought I had to stop, drop, and roll when there was an earthquake.

I was actually in the middle of a nap when the earthquake happened. I had a sudden dream of buildings collapsing and immediately woke up as soon as I felt my apartment room shaking. I wasn't used to earthquakes, so I felt really dizzy. To be honest, I thought I was just being paranoid until I heard one of my neighbors scream dramatically, " Everyone, there's an earthquake!!! The world is ending!!". Thanks to that lady, I thought the world was ending. I just accepted my fate and drank some water... Well, the earthquake did come to an end, so I realized the world wasn't ending yet.

Things have changed now, and it took some time, but I've gotten used to earthquakes, things falling down, and aftershocks.

You might feel terrified by the "near-death" experience, but trust me, a little practice goes a long way. You just have to practice staying calm in most situations and you'll be fine.

Stay safe!

Rosetta~

I felt my house shake about 5degree.

I was up stair so the effect was even worse. My head was shaking so when I looked to the nearest object I saw it shake abit so I told my aunt is there an earthquake she was like "what?., that's not-"as she was about to continue she shouted to me and my sister to get downstair realising the danger. As she ran downstair my sister became melodramatic and stared at me with a sad face. I look around me as I saw people panicking and being calm this wa the first time seeing such a dismal place being quite wonky.

The thing in my house didn't change except the worry of another earthquick and about the news the news were depressing and horrid to see many people die again I this small land.

My new habits after that were nothing I didn't pick any habbits as I was bored and lazy and I didn't need to beacause you only die once!!

The advice I would give is just listen to the news incase.
