  • At the elementary level, AVID strategies are integrated into the regular school day. 
  • Students use AVID note-taking techniques in all of their subjects, and class activities reinforce the concept of college, why it’s important and the hard work and dedication it takes to get there.
  • Along with organization and self-confidence, elementary AVID also emphasizes academic language — the lexicon of words that are often found in textbooks and on tests, but aren’t always well-known by students, particularly those for whom English is a second language.
