Unequal Opportunity Race Response by Adriel Antoine

How does this video depict privilege?
What did you feel after each moment where the Black runners were disrupted?
Does this video do a good job of depicting the inequality in America? Is the video exaggerated?

This video depicts privilege by showing how the White people in the video were basically carried to the finish-line effortlessly and didn't have to go through the same obstacles as the Black people in the video. In society today many people of color go through so much to live life. I felt like everything the video showed was true for many Black and White people. I feel disappointed that it is that way in society. There were many racial misconceptions about people of color which made them go through the many things that they did. I felt sad for each Black person in the video that were disrupted because the Whites didn't get disrupted at all which shows the unequal opportunities the African Americans had. I believe that the video did a good job depicting what it's like for many African Americans in America's society today. The video is not exaggerated at all, but very accurate.

This video depicts privilege by presenting the many ways structural discrimination is applied in America. When watching this video I felt as if these obstacles were meant just for people of color. This video depicts the true reality of inequality with the outcomes of Whites and people of color. The video developed an accurate outcome of experiences and disadvantages for people of color.

This video depicts privilege because the people of color couldn't begin at the same time as the whites. The white boy was depicted as a "old boy network" and given a whole area for himself that let him glide through the entire race with a beverage and completing the race effortlessly while the black boy was put in a cage with no chance of completing and the woman had obstacles thrown at her consistently in the race almost with no break or special treatment. Watching the video is a very upsetting but no surprise because this is what we actually see in our country. I think this video did a great job depicting inequality in america because it gave very real scenarios such as segregation in certain neighborhoods, shortened life spans, incarceration, drug tests with the assumption drugs were being used by the girl and even in school systems. Very upsetting and enraging but its what we see in our society.

This video shows a good example of privilege cause each part race it showed what a black and Hispanic person had to go through the adversity and white people didn’t have go through none of that through whole race and the fact the prison was built for us and not for other every race is messed up.

This video depicts that white people are not at a disadvantage like people of color. This video is accurate because at some point in a persons if if they are a person of color, will experience the injustices mentioned in the video. Ex discrimination, housing discrimination, racial profiling. It is disappointing to know that people of color experience this still in modern day America.

this video shows how privilege can be used in different ways towards white people. This video is accurate because, For example if someone is a person of color, It would be twice as hard for them because they will always go through housing, discrimination, bad schooling and many more. But If your white you wouldn't have to go through what Blacks and Hispanics usually face in society today.

How this video depicts privilege is by showing the white men that had connections and won the race and barley ran, showing that black people will never live or be welcomed into the white community. When the black runners were disturbed showed something we go through like the pipe to prison pipeline, racial profiling, etc. and it all happened the minute they started the race to me this shows that the minute you are born you already have this target on you and people already look down at you thinking you can’t be anything, and In reality there is a lot of successful black people out there. Truthfully I feel that this video is not exaggerated it shows clear understanding of what us blacks go through and they still could’ve added more.

Whites have always had the upper hand in things and it shows us in the video. The opportunities whites are given beats out the opportunities minorities get.

This video is about the injustices, discrimination, problems, and struggles that minorities have gone through over many centuries, which have lead to what we still go through to this day. It also shows the privilege and easy route that people of non-color have had over every single inch of their lives, never being stopped and having a clear path.
