Week 3 Enculturation by Bryanna Kemp

The smaller group members will investigate and provide an overview on the school system for their assigned country. Your smaller group will create one presentation for the entire group. You can collaborate using google slides. This will allow group members to post their findings in one presentation and it allows you to work remotely. References are required for the project, and they must be listed in APA style. Each smaller group member is required to provide 2 references for the presentation. Each smaller group member should identify their slides using a title slide or Footer on each slide. Be sure to contact your smaller group members no later than Tuesday 1/25 to delegate tasks and responsibilities for the presentation. The deadline for the presentation to be posted on the Padlet is Thursday 1/27 by 11:55PM. All team members must have their work completed for the presentation by this due date.
You are required to post a comment to at least one group’s presentation in the Padlet on or before Sunday 1/30 by 11:55PM. First presentation post is due by Thursday 1/27 on or before 11:55PM and reply posts are due on or before Sunday 1/30 by 11:55PM. The first presentation is done as a group and replies are done individually.

Great job on your presentation. It was informative and concise. I was really surprised to see how few students graduate from universities. It is encouraging to see that they appear to be resolving their worst issues with education, such as making sure girls are educated as well as boys. it is disheartening that class distinctions still stand in the way of a good education. Thank You!

Hi Group 7! I really enjoyed looking through your presentation. I thought it was really interesting that agriculture is a compulsory subject taught in fourth grade in Egypt as I hadn't heard of agriculture as a subject being taught in any capacity before college before. I also thought it was interesting that secondary education was split into two streams as that's really different than what we do here. -Allison Chang

Hey group 7, Good job on the not only the information on the presentation but the designs of the presentation was very appealing. A few of the things I found interesting was that 30% of all Egyptians but half of them gradate. But after they graduate it took on average of seven years to find a job. -Jomari Garcia

Hello Team Japan! Thank you so much for your presentation. Firstly I would like to say that I really liked the theme of your presentation. It stands out and fits the topic. All of your slides are packed with information and its formatted in a way that was easy for me to read and understand. One of the things that stood out to me during the presentation was the misogyny in Japan. I wasn't aware that Japan was like that at all so to hear that the boys went to school first before the girls because they couldn't function well later in the day is so crazy to me. Also the stigma around women who want to pressure high level jobs and education baffles me. Hopefully in the future with the continuation of more and more women defying these stigmas, this traditional view of women will change. - Tiffany Westerberg
