         <title>The first expedition to Roanoke was led by Sir Richard Greenville. The expedition arrived at Roanoke in 1585. Greenville left 107 settlers, all men, at Roanoke under the charge of Ralph Lane. Greenville then returned to England in order to gather additional supplies for the settlement. </title>

         <title>plymouth was found in 1620 in cape cod and was founded by the pilgrims in england in the 1600 it was illegal to belong to any church except the church of england those who spoke out against the church faced persecution or harsh treatment for their religious beliefs one group who wanted to break away from the church where the pilgrims a pilgrims is someone who makes a journey for religious reasons the pilgrims thought that the church would never make the changes they wanted they decided to head to North America a ship called the mayflower left England in sep. 1620 the 102 men and women and children abord faced rough seas hunger and disease during their journey across the atlantic when they arrived two months later a harsh winter was right around the corrner by spring only half remained the rest died of disease and starvation those who survived set about building a settlement called plymouth       </title>
