Narative text: "Come to my best friend's sweet seventeen"

On my last day off, I attended my best friend's sweet seventeen. On that day I came the earliest and friend of my best friend from junior high school named Shella also came and greeted me immediately. Honestly, we never knew each other so we were both very awkward, we tried to chat until the party host came. We started the event, and ended it with a walk in the mall, my best friend said the other invited guests felt more awkward and afraid to join because they saw us (me and Shella) looking so close. And I feel that it's not wrong because Shella and I have the same interests, I'm so happy to make a new friend and spend time together.

Argumentative Text: "Luck from broken plates"

I think the Polterabend tradition is very interesting. While many people keep their plates unbroken, in Germany people are happier if more plates are broken. In Germany, there is a wedding ritual where people will break plates before the wedding day, where people there believe that the more plates that are broken, the more luck that comes in married life. But the couple also has to clean up the broken dishes with their partner, so they are still very inconvenienced even though the intention of the ritual is good to symbolise that they can work well together on tasks. So, in my opinion, this ritual serves a good purpose even though it is costly, but it is still good in enhancing couples' co-operation in doing tasks together.
