There are two different groups of sloths: two-toed sloths and three-toed sloths. In total, there are approximately six known species of sloths. They are known to be sluggish and slow in everything they do. They feed mostly on leaves, fruit, and sap. Finally, they enjoy pooping on the bottom of trees.

There are hundreds of thousands of sloths in the world. The map above shows where most of the sloth population is found in Africa. However, various species of sloths exist all over South and Central America.

Several species live in a sloth's habitat including moths, algae, fungi, koalas, birds, leaves, plants, weeds, and cockroaches.
