The children that I saw at the museum were very interested in all the artifacts that were around. It was cool to see little kids super excited about all the different things. It would be a great place to take a future class to so they can learn more about different parts of the world.

Exploration Place is very kid-based. Everywhere I looked, there was a child or activities for children to do. While I was there, they had a Lego exhibit. All the children were building their own creations out of Legos and having a blast. There were also workers walking around, answering questions they had about certain items. There was something like a pendulum that knocked blocks over every 6 minutes, which represented something about the earth spinning. I overheard conversations about this between a kid and a worker.

This is a very informative place for kids. They have a health room that teaches about the body, how to give CPR, ect. My younger brother was with me and he had a blast learning about our bodies and the planes that they have there as well. It would teach future students so much stuff that they could apply to their lives or their future careers.

At the salt museum, there were not many children. The only ones I noticed were probably middle or high school aged. The small train ride through the museum was very informative yet simplified for younger minds. It created a good way to describe what all the different parts of the mine were without being too detailed. There was also an area where we were allowed to take a piece of salt. While we did this, a worker explained to us how important the salt is to our world.

I did not realize how intense it was to mine salt and how important that salt is to our world. They had so many interesting facts to supply us with as well. I think that Strataca would be a great place for children to visit to see that there are very interesting jobs for their futures.

Being 650 ft underground was so amazing. They told us the air quality down there is the best for us to be breathing. They had so many cool movie artifacts as well as all of the medical records of Kansas residents. I did not know how in-depth mining salt was or how they spent hours on end down there. It was way bigger than I expected as well. I would definitely recommend this to someone who has not gone.
