         <description><![CDATA[<div>Lola Rodriguez de Tío was a rebel against Spanish oppression and write the national anthem of Puerto Rico. She was a strong feminist who fought for women’s rights. She we was married at age 20 to Banacio Tío Segarra who was a respected/influential journalist and poet. Her and her husband were partners in life and politics. They were both considered a tHorn in the side of the government.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The government ended up winning but Lola won in the big picture. On paper it looks as if the government had won because they deported Lola after her writings were released that inspired people o rebel against the government. Sending Lola away ended up having an opposite effect of what they thought would happen. Her poetry and writing started to spread faster and influence more people. So in the end Lola did not win her battle for independence, but she won the hearts of the people.</div>]]></description>
