We discussed the drawbacks of the measures taken by the English government in introducing an algorithm to predict the students' grades. We also compared it to the decisions made in Hungary regarding the final exams. They practised the new words and had to retell the story based on the words given. Some of the students found the words too difficult, but on the whole they understood the text and could share their opinion with the class.

It always gives a good picture of a student's skill when they are alone, uninterrupted on the stage for a few of minutes speaking continuously. I gave feedback on pronunciation, word order, grammar, diction, etc. 

Built into the lesson was learning how to communicate visually. A PPT or Prezi is an AID. Do *NOT* read off the PPT, read off paper notes. This avoids traffic jams in the brain. I taught them WHY it vital to have VERY short bullet points. More screens with max. 5-6 points on each is better than fewer screens with more bullets. Our era is information overload time, so we need to use visual communication, and use if properly. They need to provide a URL (link) to their source or a uploaded photo of the paper book, magazine, newspaper, brochure,... as PROOF that it was in English. By reading in English (not translating to EN from HU) they learn more. I am a stickler on this point with them. 

There is a deadline for uploading, as I do not want them reading during class as a form of CYA. If present in class, they will not be allowed to share (material read after class began) and get a '1' (50% mark) because they are not ready. I want to push them to learn to BE READY. It is expected in the university and at the job.

They need to talk for 1-2 minutes so the reading must be at least 3-4 paragraphs.
