I have taken a few schools to tour the Washington County Detention Center yearly up until last year. The students were able to see the inner workings of how a large jail works and the many jobs that are offered. It is not possible to take every school on a field trip, so a virtual one would be great! Doing a recording of any of these locations would be interesting even to the student who thinks are is boring. There would be at least a few artworks with subject matter or aesthetic appeal for every student. I think have a scavenger hunt approach would engage the highest number of students. For example: Find an artwork created in the 1950's, Find an artwork created by a prison inmate. Find artworks depicting the entertainment industry, the agriculture industry, and an Arkansas education facility. Students fill these in as the field trip reveals them. And finally, ask the student to rank the artworks from favorite to least favorite.
