The Civilian Conservation Corps also assisted in its creation, working on making the lake a fishing spot. Night crews worked to ensure the lake was created quickly (Myers, 2008).  
 During the Great Depression, Nevada, with its relative lack of industrialization, benefited greatly from New Deal projects.
