I'm from the city and she's from the the country, so I feel like it would more interesting to interview someone that lives a completely different lifestyle than me. I gave you this form to go over the basics of my project and explain why I specifically chose YOU. In my Online English class we are doing a creative nonfiction profile essay in which we extensively learn new information about a selected individual. In my case, that selected individual is you ! I'd like to do a face to face interview with you and also record, just to get a more personal feel on the interview and catch every detail i.e when we have short laugh breaks, the way your emotions change when I ask certain questions, your facial expressions etc. Through research, writing, and reflection I will basically be be doing a written documentary about you and all the small details that make you who you are. I will ask you around 10-15 questions ranging from your childhood to present day and with the information you give me, I'll analyze your answers in order to not only deepen my understanding of you but to dig deeper and include my perspective of your life and why I personally think you are who you are based on my interview and interaction with you. I know it sounds a little weird how personal I'll be getting, but to protect your privacy not everyone can just view your information. My professor will be able to view my analysis of you, but there is a chance that my classmates might also be able to read as well. If that makes you uncomfortable, notify me and I can most definitely change the contents of the assignment. As she talks during the interview, I will record her responses in order to keep track of my content. Whenever we get to our final destination, I'll record the environmental setting such as what time of day it is, if it's raining, or who's around just in case looking back I could tell if the environment influenced a response. Along with the video, I can ask her to give me photos of her from when she was younger until now just to see her progression as well as pictures of people that are important to her. I can ask her what kinds of things she likes and we print some pictures out in order to make a collage of her interests to then tie that back to her and why those interests make her who she is.
