When Emma hides to eavesdrop on the conversation between uncle Peri and Grandma Blue  Emma finds out that they might sell the Cafe to a man who is mentioned to be a good-for-nothing dirt bag. The different and completely opposite views weakens the bond between the two. Emma's point of view is that it’s our home and therefore we must not sell. While Grandma Blues perspective is that they will have to sell because they don't have enough money to live. Their bussiness is not doing to good. Grandma Blue also mentions the cafe as a Dump. Uncle Peri’s argument is fairly similar to Emma’s. And that the kids have lived here all their lives.
