At the beginning of the story it talk about thing burn while watched with pleasure. We can see that Montag love his job very much since his favorite thing was to watch thing burn to blackened and change. in the beginning of story  Montag has no knowledge like the other in society about book so it was his job to burn stuff and think book was something bad. the people who were hiding book were guilty and his job was to burn the book for them in the society. While we can see that at the beginning Montag has no knowledge about anything because he hadn't read any book yet.

in the middle of the story we can see that Montag wasn't except to see a woman burn with the book. dismay mean consternation and distress, typically that caused by something unexpected. we can see that he look on the floor dismay meaning he wasn't except to see this happen and he wasn't ready to see this happen. we can see his knowledge has increase by a bit. he now know fire ins't as pleasure as when he saw it. He also start to wonder about book why would a woman burn with the books. in end of this quote Montag took a book and hidden it in his house which cause his family member think he was crazy and something is wrong with him. From this point on we can see that Montag is gaining knowledge instead of being ignorance.

From this point of the story we can see that the people in the society knew that Montag was hiding book now he on the run from the police. Montag has gain knowledge about the book. The society want to arrest Montag or stop him in some way since he has the knowledge. At the start of the book Montag work as a fireman and burn book and he burning knowledge without knowing it. After seeing the woman burn he start to want learn about knowledge which cause he to be chase by the government. the government doesn't want the society to have media, so they control knowledge without anyone knowing it. Ignorance we can said that the people in the society have no knowledge they just do they daily life. the government of this society does a well job to prevent knowledge for the society people.
