Bonjour! Ciao! Hola! My name is Natalia Garcia, I am a current Junior at YES Prep Eisenhower. I was born on November 26, 2001, here in Houston Texas.  I enjoy participating in any community event, I basically live at church ( I literally spend most of my time there), and I enjoy baseball/ softball.  I am planning to attend  St. Edwards at Austin to get my BA in Political Science, and then attend St. Mary's Law School in San Antonio. As a daughter of two immigrants, I am fighting to defeat the stereotypes that prevent many other Hispanic children across the United States to receive an education.  I have seen the blood and tears that it takes to raise, feed, and provide an education for one's children, my parents' sacrifice will NOT be going in vain. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION in my household.

However, if I am being sincere the place I find the most comfort and consistency volunteering is within my church community. Not only do I find spiritual comfort but it is also a place where I’ve established some of the strongest relationships/ connections. However, knowing your strengths and your weaknesses is we’re the power is. Being able to recognize where you need improvement and being able to take constructive criticism is an import quality to develop. I have a hard time keeping my frustrations in check while keeping everyone’s opinion considered. I find this extremely difficult, being able to balance everyone’s needs while doing what is deemed most convenient for the sake of the group.  I’ve come a long way with continuously developing this skill. I’ve come form being closed off and ignorant, to being an attentive and considerate person.
