I am Noellia Zamora and my topic is Traumatic Brain Injury. This topic is meaningful to me because I recently have had a family friend experience this first hand and I have been super interested in following the recovery process that she has to endure. When learning about my topic through two different disciplines ( Science and English) I have found new ways to connect
Independent learning has been very overwhelming and challenging for me so far. The amount of freedom given to us during this project made me nervous because I would rather have a set of step by step directions to follow. But I like researching something that is interesting to me because I won't be bored easily when working on it. I have not found someone to conduct an interview with but I would love to get a doctor who specializes in TBI's and ask questions to learn more specifically about the rehabiltion process. For my final product I am thinking about the create it template and maybe making some sort of sculpture of a brain and show how it works before and after traumatic injury. My biggest concern for this project is feeling like I have to much work if I fall behind and don't keep up with presswork. And what im most excited about is I will be becoming an expert on the topic of my choice and sharing it out to the public.

This week I have started the model and prototype step of my midstone project. I think the value of creating a vision board is that one can put out all their ideas that they have collected during research onto one place and start to imagine a ending product. This week when sharing my jamboard(vision board) with my classmates I gained feedback to help my project evolve and become better. For example, Molly asked me how my English discipline would connect to my final product of two brain models and that made me realize I had absolutely no clue how I could incorporate English at all into my product. So I ended up switching to a different product template and create a video essay instead. I will be able to explain each discipline much better by showing pictures/videos and talking in a voice over. A specific piece of feedback I gave Fredi was to make her diciplince connections more clear to her audience and describe how those will relate to her ending product. Overall I think that adding those things will make everything more clear and very easy for the viewer to understand .

This past week I have transitioned from define and ideate to the model/prototype phase in my project. For my prototype i decided to make a script including what each section was going to be about and what visuals I would use to further explain my thinking. I believe my work does not not live up to the expectations . A challenge for me during this midstone project has being indecisive and too broad.
In my mind the value of sharing a model/prototype with peers and teachers is to help us plan and get a huge amount of feedback to enhance/ make our projects better. While giving this round of feedback i liked how there were more focused sections dedicated to each thing you need to have included in your final product. A piece of good feedback I got from Katie,Isabella, and Theo was that my end user was very vague and too stay away from the words anyone or everyone to help being less vague.

While transitioning from the model/prototype phase to test and evaluate I have recognized that getting feedback during every single step in the design process is going to prepare us for when we have to present to people outside of the egos community. I got one last big round of feedback for a final chance to keep furthering my project to be the best it can be.

What is the value of presenting you products to your peers, before moving into the "Test and Evaluate" (Product Revision) phase of your project.

Midstone was mostly an independent based project. This is something I haven't had much experienced doing in the past. I'm not going to lie I definitely struggled managing time and working on my own. I didn't ask for help as much as I could have which resulted in me turning in things late. I was thankful to have Mrs. Hoge help me throughout the entire design process as well as the other students to push me and give me honest feedback. I think I still have a long way to go in becoming independent but I am more aware of my limits as what I can do by myself and what I need a bit of help on. The most significant success for me was being able to change my final project with limited time. Originally I was going to do a build it but I ended up switching to a video essay. My most significant failure was definitely my time management skills. Like I said earlier I struggled with getting things in on time especially with taking an extra history class. The most impactful stage for me was getting feedback. I took everything my classmates said to heart and applied to to my work. If only one thing gets taken away from my project I'd want it to be an awareness for the warning signs of TBI's. With such a deep and traumatic connection to this subject I really want other people to be safe so they don't have to go through that as well. When I'm older I want to get into Sports Management. This job encounters a lot of head injuries and therefore I have to know a lot about TBI's. This project has helped me learn so much and grow as a person.
