In the novel, The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby met Daisy in Louisvillie because James was stationed at Camp Taylor. Being very acquainted with many officers of the camp, Daisy had the pleasure of meeting Gatsby one day when they came over. During Gatsby four years away, Tom Buchanan fell for Daisy and she did as well. Tom gifted Daisy a 350,000 dollars pearl necklace. The day before the wedding Daisy received a letter. In a instant Daisy completely went mad and changed her mind about her marriage, but soon got used to the fact. Gatsby relieved to Jordan that everything he did was for her. Buying the mansion right across from here and throw extreme parties every weekend to grad her attention, but none of that worked. Now he resorted to asking Nick to invite Daisy over for tea.

In the book The Great Gatsby where Nick was the only one invited to the party, I think Gatsby had told Jordan what she is telling Nick now on pages 74-80, so he wont be confused on why was he the only one to be invited. On those pages Jordan tells Nick about Gatsby's and Daisy's past. How in 1917 she met Gatsby in Long Island but soon he had left to war, she tried to go to New York to see him and her parents didn't let her. so since she couldn't be with Gatsby she then got engaged to a man in New Orleans in February and by June she married another man named Tom Buchanan. Before the wedding Daisy received a letter from an anonymous person no one but her knows what it was about. Her and Gatsby haven't seen each other since the day in long island where he was in her white car in 1917. so Gatsby has name a plan for Jordan to convince Nick to invite Daisy over for tea at his place and for Gatsby to be there without her knowing so they can reunite again.

They fell madly in love and when Gatsby was called away to fight in the War he had to leave Daisy behind. She soon met a man named Tom and he had given her a beautiful pearl necklace. Soon after Daisy and Tom were to be married and the day before the wedding Daisy receives a letter from Gatsby that had brought her to tears, the letter could have said that he was back and wanted her to come and see him. After reading the letter Daisy didn't want to be married but after a lot of talking with her mother, the next day at five o'clock she was married, and soon after had a daughter with Tom.

Five years passed and Gatsby is throwing parties all the time, hoping that one day Daisy would happen to just walk in, but that didn't happen. Nick isn't suppose to tell Daisy that he would be inviting Gatsby over as well.
