Most of them come with some sort of 'stay dry' liner already attached so using a fleece liner is optional.

Pros:
-Once you have the fit right they go on most like a disposable. 
- Not too bulky for a newborn.
-Very convinient for others who may not be so used to cloth and for out and about.

Cons:
- Not always the most absorbent but with a newborn when you are changing frequently this isn't too much of an issue.

Usually the absorbent booster is attached with a popper to secure it when being worn but then can be detached from the waterproof outer for washing and drying.

Pros:
- Once they are 'put together' after washing they are very simple and convienient to use.
-if you have additional inserts you can just swap the pop in insert when the nappy is dirty as long as the outter wrap is clean.
- You can boost some of them with additional inserts
- Because the boosters come away you can tumble dry them on low

Cons:
- You have to pop the inserts back into the nappies after washing before use.

After washing you'll need to stuff the booster back into the pocket before fitting it. Most pocket nappies have a fleece stay dry top so a liner is optional but may help with poo disposal. We advise taking boosters out of nappy before putting it in the wetbag once dirty to ensure it is washed thoroughly.

Pros:
- Once stuffed it goes on all in one piece
- Can vary absorbency depending on need - on a newborn you could use just one insert to make it less bulky.
- Can mix and match boosters, you don't have to stick with the same brand eg a prefold makes a good pocket insert.
- Can tumble dry absorbent boosters on low

Cons:
- Need to 'stuff' the nappies before putting them on baby

These are great at containment so work really well for newborns with liquidy poo! They're also good for heavy wetters and night time use as baby gets older. They can also be boosted for additional absorbency.

- Very absorbent - can last all night.
- Can be boosted for additional absorbency
- Can be tumble dried on low
- Great for containment with younger babies

Cons:
- Have to be used with an additional waterproof wrap so a bit 'faffy' to put on.
- Can take a long time to dry as they are very absorbent

You can use any wrap with any other nappy - they do not need to be the same brand. They work particularly well for newborns with a prefold or muslin underneath when you are changing frequently as you can reuse the wrap a few times.

Pros:
- You can reuse a wrap a few times as long as it isn't dirty, just change the inner absorbent part of the nappy and wipe out the wrap.
- They are really economical as they can be used multiple times
- They dry very quickly.

Cons:
 - They need to be used with an additional absorbent inner

They need to be used with a waterproof wrap over the top. You can also use them just folded into a pad or rectangle shape and place it inside the waterproor wrap or as a booster inside a pocket nappy.

Pros:
- very economical - using terry towelling or muslin flat nappies and a wrap is probably the cheapest way of using cloth nappies especially with a newborn who goes through a lot of nappies.
- They dry quickly because they unfold, you can also tumble dry them on low.
- using a combination of flats and boosters you can adjust the absorbency of a nappy very easily so you don't need lots of different types of nappies.

Cons:
- they can be fiddly to put on especially when you are learning how to fold flats

Not only does it protect the nappies but they help baby feel drier and more comfortable.
We include 2 types of liners in the kits - disposable liners which you must throw in the bin, generally some people like to use these after 6 months when solid waste must go down the toilet or in the bin so these can help to 'catch' it.
Fleece liners - these help keep moisture away from babies skin. If baby is over 6 months or on solid food any solid waste will need to be put down the toilet.
