The people who took them in for one day were at risk. It is about Pearl Harbor and has to do with him surviving on the U.S.S. Arizona. That book is also about planes.
       A Text to World connection is that this really happened. Those airmen were trapped behind enemy lines and starving and hoping to find food. The airmen got saved but it was a treacherous time for them.
