         <description><![CDATA[<div>How can the teacher be intentional in facilitating CCE learning to meet students’ needs at the individual and class level?<br><br>- set ground rules - reinforce the rules before any activity, remind students of the etiquette &nbsp;<br><br>- perspective taking: make use of scenarios to help them empathize (can do in small group or in pairs first so students are more comfortable to share)<br><br>- share personal stories (don't preach) both individual and class level to help the class and Haris<br><br>- link it to one of themes or topics in textbook/ real life authentic examples like news article to connect between CCE lessons and real life examples so we can help the rest of students understand this situation better.          <description><![CDATA[<div>What are the issues and/or opportunities for teacher to facilitate CCE learning?<br><br>Issue #1<br>When teacher shows picture of popular food, students enthusiastically participated but was very chaotic (shouting at top of voice).&nbsp;<br><br>Teacher should address the issue of shouting after getting students to settle down, for example, telling them that if they are too noisy, they will affect other classes (be considerate) or refer back to classroom rules that they had come up together (one voice at a time)<br><br>Issue #2<br>Teacher explain about the designated tray return and get students to reflect about their learning. During sharing, teacher notice them only the same few students respond. When calling upon Tina, the shy girl was also caught off guard.<br><br>Teacher can increase participation by inviting students to share their thoughts in a safe online space or share with their shoulder partner, before calling upon students to share their thoughts. In this way, students won't get called off guard and have peer support during classroom sharing.&nbsp;<br><br>Issue #3<br>Students got impatient and wave their hand high, wanting to speak during Tina was asked to share.&nbsp;<br><br>Teacher should remind students about one voice at a time rule, and also remind them that they should be considerate and give their friends a chance to respond.&nbsp;<br><br>Issue #4<br>Classmate blurt out that "aiyo how come you don't know the answer" and give the answer. Teacher only gave a disapproving look and scolded her for her insensitive comment and request for her to apologize.&nbsp;<br><br>Teacher should address the class as a teachable moment, for example the rationale of why she needed Jill to apologize to Tina, and to have a one-to-one short chat with Jill separately to check in on why she did what she did in class. For Tina, teacher should also talk to Tina one-to-one after class and check in on her well-being, how she is affected when she got asked to share in front of the classmates, how Jill affected her and also how is she adjusting to class (since she is a shy girl)</div>]]></description>
