Why did the French and the British go to war with each other?

The Ohio River Valley was the boundary between French and British territory with the French being west of the valley, and the British being east of the valley. The war started because both the French and the British wanted economical and territorial gains, so they fought each other for it.

On July 9, 1755, General Edward Braddock was killed which lead to many more deaths of British soldiers because they had lost the man that gave them orders, so soldiers were unsure of what to do in battle.

The war ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. This gave Great Britain all of France’s territory east of the Mississippi River, and Spanish Florida. France lost all of their North American land, but Great Britain also went into major debt which would lead to the American Revolution.

After the war, Great Britain had gone into massive debt so they attempted to pay it off by making the colonists pay taxes, but they refused which led them to fight for independence from Great Britain, (The American Revolution).
