Since Kristy's mom is struggling to find a babysitter Kristy comes up with the idea of the babysitters club.
Kristy loves the idea of the babysitters club so she asked Mary Anne to be in the club and since Mary Anne is Kristy's best friend she said yes to the club, then Kristy realizes it's not a club with only two people so she asks Claudia. Kristy passed a note saying "Hi Claudia, wanna be in the babysitters club? We can do the meetings at your house."
And then the teacher says to Kristy "hey! are you passing notes around?"
Kristy says "no"
Claudia replied to the invite for the babysitters club by showing her shoe that says ok to Kristy.
After school they went to Claudia's house and went to her room, she sees another girl named Stacey. They introduce themselves to Stacey because she's new to the town. 
They finally decided that Mary Anne, Kristy, Claudia and Stacey were going to be the members of the babysitters club.

The green mountains of Vermont are very different from her urban Jewish tenement. There are so many new things to experience, from milking cows to picking blackberries, and from swimming in a pond to catching fireflies. Dossi cherishes each adventure, but her greatest with is to have Emma Meade, the brooding daughter of her Christian host family, become her friend. As she struggles to fit into her new rural environment, Dossi comes to realize that, sometimes, worlds apart are not so far away after all.

5. The role of the setting is important to the story because it is somewhere Dossi is not used to and learns new things. The mood that the setting sets in this book is a happy and interesting mood.

In the book Mermaid Kingdom Shyanna's wish, her problem is hoping for someone to celebrate her birthday with, but everybody was very busy. My theory is someone will surprise her for her birthday. I think this book is trying to teach me never give up on something because at the end she kept waiting and waiting, and finally someone surprised her!
