Different cultures vary from person to person mainly due to the country or nation in which he/she has grown up. With this, people from the same country are more likely to acquire the same cultural characteristics.

As different people acquire and learn cultures from their own home countries, which may likely differ from others, their beliefs will most certainly vary in at least one way. As they grew up in different environments and traditions, their way of thinking in some way may vary. Another aspect to look at is religion. Although culture is not directly related to one’s religion, one’s home country may have a dominant religion among its citizens. And with the varying religions of people, beliefs and mindsets will likely differ which is a challenge in communication.

Since every country has a different way to live through their lifestyle from eating foods, clothes, and communicating with the locals so that the person living can integrate themselves into their lifestyle that they are living, there are many ways to communicate than language. Communications can also start with an interest in foods, clothes, music, and culture.

In Japan, when eating noodles, people make a slurping sound because they believe that doing this is to appreciate the food, which means that the food is delicious. It is not a requirement; however, it is a habit of Japanese people. If you don't do it, the Japanese will look at it rude, and they will think that you don't like their food. On the other hand, if you slurp in other countries, they will think of you as rude, for example, in the Philippines.

Communication focuses more on sending the message where the speaker wants to show or talk about a topic or the context when speaking to each other. This difference in communication can be a hindrance when speaking in a different language where they do not have a common language where breaking or broken language can be helpful since they are trying to understand each other on the topic or context they wanted. Given an example where communication is not apparent, having formal attire have different meaning and the appropriate time when wearing it based on other cultures (Glassdoor Team, 2021).

Glassdoor Team.

The values of different cultures can vary since it has already become a habit in most people's lifestyles which they think of as a social norm since, as far as they remember, they have these habits already. We can put on a simple form like an individualist or collectivist society where the people living based on their cultures can be easily distinguishable from others hence the differences between them. Individualistic societies are more prone to participate in activities alone, and social encounters, while more frequent, tend to be briefer and less intimate. People from collective cultures are more inclined to favor social movements as the duration and intimacy of social contacts increase (Menzies, 2019).

Menzies, F.

"Mano po", "Po" at "Opo" We hear these words from Filipinos as a sign of respect for one's elders. They usually punctuate or end a usual sentence in a conversation. When a Filipino child meets an older family member, the youth customarily greets them with a gesture called mano po, taking the older relative's hand and placing it on his or her own forehead to express profound respect for the elder. It is way to communicate their respect. I don't see any countries doing this practice.

Cultural variations influence how we communicate. To break down boundaries and avoid misinterpretation, we must immerse ourselves in the information that extends well beyond our culture. We must be cautious in our acts and words since we all hold diverse opinions that may offend others. Learning other cultures is not that hard; we just need the basics that will not offend them. Culture is one of the factors affecting globalization, so as it rises, we have to be open in order to communicate and help one another. Globalization can help our economy and relationship among countries.
