We are very active on Twitter and I would continue to use this for the government officials. Firstly, because some, though not all, are active on the platform, but we also have many in our ecosystem who are active on Twitter and once they access the material, can share it in their networks or link it back to the government department. I have seen this work quite well on a number of occasions and it's something that I'd repeat. Twitter also allows us to link to longer-form content on our website, which is quite handy, so I would use this feature actively.
One new feature would be to use the Twitter Space for a Q&A with the policymaker, enabling them to openly interact with the public. We haven't done this before, but I think it might be quite impactful and would also go quite a ways to demonstrate that our policymakers are not afraid of engaging with the public, they have nothing to hide and thus maintain that confidence in our governing bodies.

We used Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Twitter was ideal because most politicians have accounts and are present on this platform. We created the hashtag and established a conversation using all visuals, videos and messages we developed. The material were also adapted for Fb and Insta given that other audiences were also targeted. We always post our videos on YouTube and promote them there. It is worth mentioning that we used for this campaign the traditional media as the NGO we collaborated with had a communication budget so we had the leverage to broadcast our videos on top ranking TV stations locally, reaching a vast audience.

It might be tricky for my case to choose a platform that my target audience is using. Considering the platform facts probably Facebook would be the most suitable one for reaching the older persons as they tend to use it more often than the other social media outlets. However, if we want to create a surprise factor we may need to engage platform champions from unexpected outlets such as TikTok. TikTok is used by younger age groups, but seeing an elderly on that platform using the tool successfully and conveying the message could create a viral effect.
