I gave this 4 1/2 star because it was a great book. The story went smoothly along. A lot of things happened in the book. This is why I gave it 4 1/2 stars.

Dear, Author

This was a great second book to the series. I liked how they went on the adventure through the waterway and maze. It was also cool when the bugs ate the bat in seconds and the serpent came out of the water. I did not like how Gregor gave the Bane to Ripred. That just does not sound like a good idea. This book leaves readers excited for the next book.

This is Ares, in the 1st book Gregor bonded to him so Ares would not die because he had broke his original bond with an evil person.

Theme

The author believes that a theme could be fight for the people who can't fight for themselves. When Gregor was deep in the Labyrinth, he heard scratching. Just as the prophesy had foretold. He knew he had to fight the Bane alone. He went in, and it was just a small baby white rat. Gregor knew he could not have killed a baby. So, he gave it to Ripred the rat to take care of it. Gregor trusts Ripred to stop it from being the 10 foot monster it was supposed to be. If it was anybody else, they would have killed the Bane and been famous. This is why I think a theme is fight for the people who can't fight for themselves.

This quote is important because it is saying how he must kill the Bane all by himself.

This is important because if he had killed it, the entire Underland would be at war with each other, so Gregor made the right move.
