When in work or college I have very little leisure time to spend with my partner so the whole experience of gardening from choosing the plants, where to plant them, what pots and other accessories to buy and finally planting them is important to me. This would be an example of a consumer purchasing items not because of what they do but what they mean.

The couple whom I am staying with whilst in Dublin have a two-year-old daughter who I haven’t seen since her christening a year and a half ago. As they were king enough to let me stay with them this block I felt I had to purchase a gift for the child she would enjoy on her second birthday.

I would consider myself frugal whilst travelling and generally travel Ryanair anytime I travel, so for me this was great value!

This is a mixture of hedonic and utilitarian in that I have always enjoyed learning new languages as I have done since I was a small child and I also have a need to learn the language as my boyfriend is Polish with good English but his family do not speak English at all.
